Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder's dad was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. She has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family didn't have electricity. Ryder would read extensively due to the absence of television. Ryder began taking acting classes at the age of Ryder was twelve years old, and was enrolled in classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder suffered from bullying throughout highschool. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress could bring about change. Unfortunately that didn't come to be. The actress continued to chase her goals. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big breakthrough. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in a variety of films. In 1993, she was nominated twice to win Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
